Recently I received a pair of Behringer C-2 microphones. Unfortunately, Behringer do not seem to have the best reputation when it comes to audio equipment, and these microphones are on the budget end of the spectrum, they are simple cardioid condenser microphones, emulating the more expensive Rode NT5s. I decided to place them in close proximity to an acoustic guitar in order to test them out.

After a short recording session, I had several tracks laid down, and with a little EQ tweaking and a noise gate added, I am actually quite pleased with the results. Do Behringer deserve the awful reputation that they have gained? After recording with these budget mics, I think not, but have a listen for yourself.
